Diamond

From my new book, Diamond.
Through my experiences, Diamond was written to remind women of their worth, how to get back to knowing who they are, and the steps to achieving Diamond status.

Make Me Over

Tina Turner

Lord, make me over
(Lord make me over)
Make me over, Jesus (Lord make me over)
Lord, make me over
(Lord make me over) I can't be the same, I can't stay the same
Make me over, no-no-no-no-no, no-no (make me over again)
Please make me over
(Make me over again)
Yes make me over
(Make me over again)
I need a brand new start
(Make me over again)
Lord, I can't be the same way
(Make me over again)
Lord, create in me a clean heart
(Make me over again)
Lord, renew the right spirit in me
(Make me over again)
Lord, please don't pass me by
(Make me over again)
Lord, please don't pass me by
(Make me over again)
Again, again, I'm being made over
(Make me over again)
Again, would You just wrap Your loving arms around me
(Make me over again)
Yeah, and…

What's Missing

Have you ever been in a situation where it seems nothing is going right?  That's a rhetorical question.  I know you have and so have I, more than once.  I've been in situations where it seemed like I was dealing with an orchestra that didn't know themselves, each other, nor did they have a learning spirit.  The sad part of it all is that it the orchestra is all my stuff.  It's like none of my faculties wanted to cooperate with the other.  My orchestra's many parts refused to show up to work together.  When I said to myself, "I must get it together.  I have to have a little talk with myself about my disorganization.  Where's the conductor??????????"

After I found the conductor (found my MIND), I began to break down my life and what I wanted in a way I had been taught.  You see, I spent 28 years in the Army.  Every time we had something that needed to get done, we were given OR had to write an operations order.  You know the saying, "Don't reinvent the wheel if it works."  I thought about it and agreed to go with what I know because it truly works. I defined the mission and set the desired end-state for my top there goals in each section of my life.  Below you may do the same.

Mission OR Vision for my life:

Desired Endstate (What do I want my life to look like in 6months, 1 year, 5 years):

Endstate ( 1 year) -

Madam CJ Walker Did It - What's My Excuse?

This weekend I had the opportunity to review a story I hadn't visited in a while.  You know how it is when you know you've heard something before but it's like you are hearing it for the first time?  Well, that's how I felt when I read about Madam CJ Walker. Imagine growing up as a sharecropper's child, having to maybe attend school a couple weeks out of a year, losing your mother early in life, and then losing your father later.  Imagine having to work in those fields, in the blazing heat, beside your parents for food or merely pennies at a time.  It's hard to imagine right?  Now add the fact that the harshness of the heat and dirt started taking your hair. In this day and time, we are so very fortunate, well at least I know I am.  I recognize that although I don't have everything I want, I have exactly what I need 99 percent of the time.  Even the 1 percent I don't have, eventually shows up.  I am ashamed to admit but still I find m...
