Madam CJ Walker Did It - What's My Excuse?

This weekend I had the opportunity to review a story I hadn't visited in a while.  You know how it is when you know you've heard something before but it's like you are hearing it for the first time?  Well, that's how I felt when I read about Madam CJ Walker. Imagine growing up as a sharecropper's child, having to maybe attend school a couple weeks out of a year, losing your mother early in life, and then losing your father later.  Imagine having to work in those fields, in the blazing heat, beside your parents for food or merely pennies at a time.  It's hard to imagine right?  Now add the fact that the harshness of the heat and dirt started taking your hair.
